Hook the bites

Sometimes fishes tend just to snap and bite your softbait so that you miss them all, even if the color and weight is right. Sometimes it helps if you change to a smaller softbait, but now we learn how to rig your softbait fast, easily and effectively with one extra treble hook.

 

 

 

 

 

 

For this rigging you'll need scissors, thin silicone tube and rather small, light and sharp treble hooks. In this case sized #6 and #8.


















Usually when fish, especially perch and zander, are active they hit in the head. Good over-all size for jighead in late summer and early autumn is 2/0. With small grubs, under 4'' and smaller shads under 3'' size1/0 works better.



























 

Cut one piece of silicone tube for each hook. Cut the pieces little bit longer than hooks eyes are.


















 

Place the pieces of silicone tube on the hooks eyes as the picture below shows.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Place the treble hook as the picture below shows. Treble hooks one hook keeps its in its place. The shaft of the treble hook should be not too long, so that it doesn't disturb the lures swimming action. Treble hooks you use should be as light as possible. The gap of the hook should be little bit wider than the softbaits back.
