No knots

Angling whitefish is fun and it has become quite popular. It is wise to do all necessary preparing ready at home, before you go to your fishing spot. Because usually it is good to be at place before sunrise. Then it is just to set your hooks in water and wait for the bite. Allways fish don't accept your bait and you have to throw your rig in another place.  Unfortunately there is often lot's of weed, stones, twigs and junk in bottom where hooks easily get's tangled. So now and then you reel your rig back without any hook. It is no fun to tie knots on tiny hooks, especially in dusk.




It may really get on your nerves.

There is also another way. With Easy2Hook -fishing hooks you can attach hook in the line really fast, without any knots! This you can do even in dusk.

1. Make a loop in line and moisture the loop
2. Set loops base around the tap in hooks shaft
3. Roll the loop at least four times around hooks shaft
4. Pull the line through slot in shafts end. Tighten the line (be careful, hook is very sharp) and cut loops tail.

Little about rig for whitefish...
In Whitefish angling it is good to use small hooks, between #8 - #14 you will usually find suitable size.
Hook is attached in wire leader which is usually 50cm - 80cm long. Wire leared is attached in main line with knot or swivel. Wire leader should allways be more thin and not so strong than main line. This is because when your hook sets in bottom, you don't loose your whole tacle, but just hook. Usually wire leader is about 0.20mm thin monofil line. Above wire leaders and main lines joint you set sliding sinker. Sinkers weight depends on how deep and streaming place you are fishing in. Use as light weight as possible. Witefish easily rejects bait if it notices too much resistance in line.

Whitefish angling starts immediately when ice turns to open water.  Usually whitefish can be found above sand and gravel bottoms, from streaming areas where water is little bit warmer than in surrounding areas. Typically there is from 1 to 5 meters deep in best places.
